General
Which languages can I learn at Bogaers Taleninstituut?
At Bogaers you can choose from a broad range of around 25 languages, including Dutch/NT2, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and various other languages. What we offer depends on your goal, level, availability and the right teacher. Feel free to request an advisory meeting or a quote if you'd like to know what's possible.
Who is the language training for?
Our language training is for private individuals, companies, organisations, expats, newcomers, students and professionals. We provide programmes for beginners, advanced learners and course participants who want to prepare for an exam or a specific work situation.
Does Bogaers work with native teachers?
We work with native and near-native teachers and experienced language professionals. What matters is that the teacher fits your goal, level and way of learning.
Where do the lessons take place?
Lessons can take place at Bogaers in Tilburg, online, on site at a company or organisation, or by arrangement at another suitable location. The main location is:
Bogaers Taleninstituut B.V.
Groenstraat 139D, unit 205
5021 LL Tilburg
Intake, level and advice
How do I know my language level?
At the start we look at your current level, learning goal and preferred pace. This can be done through a language scan, an intake interview or a combination of the two. For Dutch/NT2 we can also look at the CEFR level, for example A0, A1, A2, B1, B2 or higher.
Is an intake compulsory?
For many programmes an intake is sensible, so we can properly determine your goal, level, planning and learning route. For tailor-made programmes, NT2, business programmes and exam preparation we always recommend an intake.
Can I get advice before I enrol?
Yes. You can first request an advisory meeting or have a no-obligation quote drawn up. On the website you can choose between a no-obligation quote and, where possible, direct enrolment.
Courses and lesson formats
Which lesson formats does Bogaers offer?
Bogaers offers, among other things, individual lessons, duo or group lessons, in-company training, blended learning, online lessons, Studiehuis and tailor-made programmes. Which format fits best depends on your goal, level, schedule and budget.
What is blended learning?
With blended learning you combine live lessons with an online practice package. Depending on the package, you practise independently online alongside the lessons with your teacher. This is useful if you want more structure than self-study alone, but also want to practise flexibly. Because not all hours are teacher hours, a combination package averages out from around 29 euros per study hour.
Can I also take lessons online?
Yes. Many lessons can be followed online. Online lessons are especially suitable if you can't come to Tilburg, have irregular working hours or want to take part from abroad.
Can I also have lessons at my workplace?
Yes. For companies and organisations we provide language training on site, online or hybrid. Think of Dutch in the workplace, business English, French, German or other languages for employees and teams.
Dutch / NT2
What does NT2 mean?
NT2 means Dutch as a second language. This is Dutch for people with a different mother tongue who want to learn Dutch for work, study, daily life, civic integration or an exam.
Does Bogaers prepare you for the NT2 State Exam?
Yes, we can guide course participants towards the NT2 State Exam, depending on level, learning goal and available preparation time. During the intake we look at which components need extra attention, such as speaking, writing, listening or reading.
Does Bogaers also help with Dutch in the workplace?
Yes. We provide Dutch in the workplace programmes for employees who want to communicate better with colleagues, customers, managers or clients. The content can be tailored to the role, sector and work situation.
Is extra practice possible alongside the lessons?
Yes. For NT2 and Dutch there is, among other things, the Studiehuis. There, course participants practise above all daring to speak and conversation, alongside pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, homework questions and exam preparation.
Studiehuis
What is the Studiehuis?
The Studiehuis is a guided practice session where course participants can do extra work on Dutch/NT2 — above all on daring to speak. It is meant as a supplement to the lessons or as extra support for self-study.
What do you do in the Studiehuis?
The Studiehuis is above all about daring to speak: plenty of conversation and pronunciation, plus grammar where needed, vocabulary, reading, writing, homework questions and exam questions. Guidance is available, but the Studiehuis is not an individual private lesson.
When is the Studiehuis?
The fixed sessions are listed on the Studiehuis page. Think of times such as Thursday evening, Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, depending on level and planning.
What does the Studiehuis cost?
For Studiehuis hours via the punch card: € 25 per hour per person (10 or 20 credits). For 40 credits: € 22.50 per hour per person.
The current rates are always on the rates page.
Rates, VAT and payment
What does language training cost?
That depends on the lesson format, language, teacher, group size, location and the number of hours. On the rates page you'll find the current rates for individual lessons, Studiehuis, blended learning, combination packages and tailor-made programmes, among others.
Are the prices inclusive or exclusive of VAT?
On the quote or invoice you'll see the applicable VAT rate per item. For business programmes 21% VAT may apply, for private or exempt programmes 0% may apply, and course materials usually fall under 9% VAT. The exact treatment is always stated on the quote or invoice.
Are there administration costs?
Yes, administration costs may apply. At the moment € 25 in administration costs per participant is assumed, unless stated otherwise in the quote.
When do I have to pay?
With direct enrolment a payment obligation arises. The official invoice with a definitive invoice number follows by e-mail from Bogaers. With a no-obligation quote there is no payment obligation yet.
If you order in the webshop, your order is currently a request: you only pay after receiving the invoice from Bogaers. Online payment (including iDEAL) will follow once the payment integration is live.
Can an employer or organisation pay?
Yes. In the form you can indicate whether you pay privately or whether a company/organisation pays. For business programmes the correct invoicing details are recorded.
Enrolment and quotes
How do I request a quote?
On the website you can use the step-by-step tool "Quote or enrolment". There you choose whether you first want to receive a no-obligation quote or enrol directly.
What is the difference between a quote and direct enrolment?
With a no-obligation quote you first receive a proposal without a direct payment obligation. With direct enrolment you confirm the details, invoicing information and payment obligation. Where needed, this is signed digitally.
Can I save my quote or enrolment?
Yes. The step-by-step tool lets you print an overview or save it as a PDF. The official invoice follows later by e-mail from Bogaers.
Cancelling, rescheduling and terms
Can I reschedule a lesson?
That depends on the lesson format and the terms that apply to your programme. For individual lessons, rescheduling in good time is possible in many cases. Always check the terms on the site and the agreements in your quote or confirmation.
Where can I find the general terms and conditions?
The general terms and conditions are on the website. Bogaers refers to the NRTO terms for consumers and business, supplemented by Bogaers' own additional terms.
Is there a right of withdrawal?
For consumers a right of withdrawal may apply, depending on how you enrol and when the service starts. The current information on this can be found with the terms and in the enrolment process.
Certificate and results
Will I get a certificate?
That depends on the programme. Afterwards, a proof of participation or certificate can be issued, for example if the programme was sufficiently attended and/or an appropriate level has been established.
Does Bogaers guarantee that I will pass an exam?
No, an exam result can never be guaranteed. We guide you as well as we can, but success also depends on your starting level, effort, attendance, practice time and exam conditions.
How quickly can I learn a language?
That differs per person and per goal. You learn faster when you attend lessons regularly, practise actively and use the language outside the lessons too. During the intake we give a realistic estimate.
Business programmes
Can you create a tailor-made training for our company?
Yes. For companies and organisations we create tailor-made programmes based on role, sector, language level, learning goal and planning. Think of Dutch in the workplace, business English, French, German or other languages.
Can several employees take part at the same time?
Yes. Group training is possible. The price depends on the group size, language, location and the number of lesson hours. For some programmes a combination of group lessons, individual guidance and online practice may be suitable.
Can you report on progress?
In business programmes, agreements can be made about progress, attendance and evaluation. In doing so, we take privacy and the agreements made into account.
